    Time Event
    9:31p
    State of the Izzy report:
It's been two months since the accident, and for the most part, I seem to be healing up nicely.

I went to the hand specialist on Wendnesday, and he said my shoulder and hand look to be healing properly. The MRI on my wrist showed nothing unexpected. There seems to be a slight loss of sensation, but it's so slight, it's possible I'm just imagining it.

I've been going to Physical and Occupational therapy for three weeks now. I've gotten most of the range of movement back in my shoulder and wrist, though using my left arm is still painful. They don't hurt that much the rest of the time; my shoulder isn't usually painful when I lie down to try to sleep any longer. I should be starting strength training next week - seeing how atrophied my arm and wrist are is disconcerting.

My right foot seems to be doing well, too, but the orthopedist's office lost my appointment, and so I won't be seeing him until mid May. The atrophy in my right leg is less noticeable then in my arm, but touching my calf muscle is horribly disconcerting - my left is still rock hard, and my right feels like a lump of fat.

My left foot rarely hurts at all, and I can put all my weight on it again. That means I can once again stand for long periods of time, which is a huge help, because I'm not supposed to put any weight on my right foot.

My right knee, as expected, isn't doing as well. Tears take longer to heal then fractures, and it seems it'll still be a while before I can walk normally. It doesn't hurt all the time any longer, but it does hurt when I use it and when I lay down and try to sleep. It's been hurting a increasingly more these past few days, too. I'm getting heavy therapy for it, but it doesn't seem to be having an impact yet. Now that the weather is nice, I'm dying to get out and start walking. It's frustrating that this, of all things, will be injured longest of all.

Because of my injured arm, I can't push myself around in a wheelchair, and as such, have to depend on the kindness of others to push me or drive me so I can get anywhere. I'm allowed to hobble short distances, as long as I use a cane. But using the cane is putting strain on my right arm and shoulder, and they're starting to hurt - some days, even more then my broken left wrist and shoulder.

There's a million and one things I have to/want to/need to get done, and I'm going stir crazy being basically stuck at home for so long. G0d willing, I'll be recovered soon.
